The wife of former Davenport mayor Bill Gluba has passed away.

Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia A. “Trish” Gluba, 74, a resident of Davenport, will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1923 Fillmore Street, Davenport.  Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4-7 pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport.  Trish passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her home in Davenport.

Patricia Ann Keefe was born on February 2, 1942 in Grinnell, Iowa, a daughter of Carroll “C.C.” and Wilma (Brimmer) Keefe.  She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart who later became the mayor of Davenport, William E. “Bill” Gluba, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, East Moline on August 28, 1965.   They were blessed to have five children, to celebrate 51 years of marriage, and for her to have served as the First Lady of Davenport.

After graduation from Alleman High School in 1960, she worked as a stewardess with Continental Trailways; then as a switchboard operator for Illinois Bell; and, after marriage, as a homemaker and a mother.  Later in life, she was an associate for K-Mart in Davenport. Trish was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  She cherished spending her free time at her children’s school and sporting events at Central Little League and Assumption High School.  When not spending time with her four grandchildren, whom she adored, Trish could be found cheering on her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes or Chicago Cubs.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of a good puzzle.

Trish was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and for 40 years was active in the church choir, as well as other school activities.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Choir Fund or to Assumption High School.

Those left to honor Trish’s memory are her husband Bill, Davenport; their children, Deborah (Matthew) Bukovy, Chicago, IL, Matthew (Charmaine) Gluba, Davenport, John (Kate) Gluba, Iowa City, Kevin Gluba, Washington DC and Daniel Gluba, Davenport; grandchildren, Sophia, Evan, Brady and Haley; and a sister, Bonnie Keefe Thompson (Larry), Rock Island.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Charles Keefe and Timothy Keefe.  May they rest in peace.
