Talking about Noreen, she used to serve as a nurse at Serenity Family Physicians. She was not alone but worked with Bill. Not to forget to mention, they started having an affair while Bill had already hitched Maddie.

As we discussed Bill’s extramarital affair with Noreen, it became so serious that the latter became pregnant. To be more exact, the two welcomed their daughter, Rebecca Fitzgibbons. This pregnancy seemed to initiate the complexities, which eventually ended up in a split. Why? 

All of the Sweet Magnolias fans were left in shock as Noreen and Bill broke up. As the series advanced, Noreen started realizing that she had better merits. In other words, she felt that she was way more deserving and would get someone better than Bill. Following this self-realization, she decided to move back with her parents. That’s why Noreen and Bill’s break up in Sweet Magnolias occurred. 

As Noreen welcomed their baby girl, Rebecca, she worked more on raising her well. Also, she moved in with her best pal, Isaac. On the other hand, Bill’s ex-wife, Maddie, also moved on in life with a former baseball player, Cal. In the end, Bill stayed all alone, maintaining a parenting relationship with Rebecca. 

Now, the question arises: why did Noreen feel the superiority? Well, it all happened after Bill was unable to consider her needs. On the other side, when she left, Bill thought of repairing his relationship with the children.

In addition to that, he also hoped for a reconciliation with Maddie, which the latter refused. Since she was heartbroken after the major betrayal in her marriage, she didn’t think of giving it another shot. 

As you may all know that Sweet Magnolias is based on a novel of the same name, penned by Sheryl Woods. In the book, Maddie ended up with Cal and welcomed a baby.
