Bar 54 death ‘curse’ has claimed a second victim as the founder of an investment firm plunged to his death. The news of his death comes months after Elizabeth Gaglewski met the same fate.

The event took place on Wednesday, January 26. Authorities were immediately called to the scene after the incident took place.

The rooftop bar has also issued a statement regarding the incident.

Who was Elizabeth Gaglewski?

As per New York Post, Elizabeth was 26 years old and an aspiring model. She grew up in Manhattan and loved keeping a small circle of friends.

Her mother told the outlet that Elizabeth enjoyed dancing and was spiritual. In October 2022 she died. Police were investigating if Elizabeth jumped or fell off the balcony.

The outlet notes that the witnesses told the police they saw a woman “jump” from the cliff. However, Elizabeth’s mother hinted it could have been an accident as her daughter was fine.

Another incident takes place at the rooftop bar

Months after Elizabeth’s death, on January 25, it was reported that the founder of an investment firm plunged to his death.

New York Post identified the man to be 46 years old Dale L. Cheney. The outlet notes that two people saw him jump and one woman called 911 after she heard a loud noise.

The death is being investigated as a suspected suicide.

Rooftbar bar’s manager breaks the silence

Tom Blundell, the general manager of the Hyatt Centric Times Square sent his condolences to the family.

He said: “We are truly heartbroken at the situation that occurred this evening outside our rooftop bar, and we are keeping the victim’s family and friends in our thoughts and hearts.”

“We are working closely with local authorities. The safety and well-being of all our colleagues, hotel guests, and Bar 54 guests remain a top priority, and at this time, as a result of this tragic incident, we will keep the door to the bar’s outdoor space locked at all times.”
