Andy Garcia was born on 12 April 1956 in Havana, Cuba. As of now, he is 66. Garcia has done his graduation from Florida International University. His father was an attorney, while his mother was an English teacher.  When he was five, his family moved to Miami, Florida, after failing the 1961 Big of Pigs Invasion.

After moving to Miami, his family started a perfume company, and with time the company became a multi-dollar company. Raised in a Roman Catholic family, Andy attended Miami Beach High Senior School. Garcia was very active in sports and has interested in pursuing a career in basketball. Nonetheless, in his last year of college, Andy found that he is ill with mononucleosis. Hence, he drooped his plan to pursue a career in sports and decided to become an actor. Following his passion, Andy enrolled himself at Florida International University to study acting.

His career took a turn, and Andy was selected for a short role in one of the episodes of “Murder She Wrote.” The series helped him to gain some recognition, and later, he played a role of a gang member in the first episode of Hill Street Blues.
