Braugher's finest performances were as Detective Frank Pembleton in the crime thriller Homicide: Life on the Street in the 1990s and, more recently, as Captain Raymond Holt in the popular sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Ami and Andre first interacted while co-starring on Homicide: Life on the Street. In 1991, the couple tied the knot. Andre was obviously madly in love with his wife. In 2020, he discussed their relationship in an interview. He said, "We have similar values, grew up in comparable neighborhoods, and have similar minds. She knows me like the back of her hand, and I’m grateful for that.”
