Serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer was caught after the police found photos of his victims in his dressing drawer, but what happened to his furniture like the fridge, and other tools that were found in his apartment?

Netflix‘s latest series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has been already watched by thousands and some of the scenes from it have left many speechless.

As the series goes through some of the most heinous crimes committed by the serial killer, we are looking back at what happened to his apartment and all the furniture that was in it.

What happened to Jeffrey Dahmer’s furniture?

In the series, we find out that the police caught him after finding images of his victims inside his dressing drawer. Upon investigation, they came across several skeletons, body parts, and other belongings of the victim.

While Jeffrey was arrested immediately, his apartment had been untouched while the trial was going on. Once the verdict was announced, it had been reported that all of Jeffrey’s belongings were planning to be sold.

There were fears memorabilia hunters would want to purchase the murderous tools he used to torture victims, writes The Independent. The gruesome auction of Jeffrey Dahmer’s ‘murderabilia’ however, was instead snapped up by someone else.

As per Washington Post, Milwaukee civic group bought the items for $407,225. The head of the group, Joseph Zilber, decided to buy items like the fridge, knives, hypodermic needles, and other items to destroy them.

In turn, the families of the victims were also compensated.

What happened to the apartment?

As seen in the series, people were asked to leave the apartment, and it was ultimately demolished.

There had been several discussions on what should be built in that place afterwards.

While there had been chatter about bringing in a park, it never became a reality. As per Yahoo, the land still remains empty.

After the building was demolished in 1992 the land was bought by Campus Circle Project for $325,000.

Does the building where Jeffrey Dahmer worked still exist?

Jeffrey used to work at The Ambrosia Chocolate factory. However, he was eventually fired from the job for not showing up, something which the show does not cover.

The building also does not exist anymore as it was demolished in 1993. The company then relocated to a new area.

Jeffrey Dahmer was handed 15 consecutive life sentences for brutally murdering 15 men, in 1992. In total, Dahmer admitted to killing 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

On November 28, 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. Scarver was handed a life sentence for killing Dahmer in jail.
