According to official reports, Tristan Smith, a 7th-grade student at Biloxi Junior High, met with a tragic accident while crossing Lamey Bridge Road near Sangani Boulevard in D’Iberville. Chief Nobles of the local police informed that first responders, including fire rescue personnel, arrived on the scene around 2:30 p.m. They were joined in their life-saving efforts by an off-duty nurse who had stopped to offer her assistance.

Medical staff on-site quickly alerted law enforcement about the critical nature of Tristan’s injuries. In a swift response, a D’Iberville police officer rushed Tristan to Merit Health Biloxi. A nurse and a firefighter accompanied him in the vehicle, diligently performing life-saving interventions throughout the journey.

On a fateful Sunday afternoon, Tristan Smith, a 12-year-old in the 7th grade at Biloxi Junior High, sadly passed away.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer later confirmed that, despite all efforts to save him, Tristan passed away at the hospital due to the blunt force trauma he had sustained. “Regrettably, the young victim’s life could not be saved, despite the collective efforts of everyone involved.
