We have our first Tornado Watch of the season in the Quad Cities.

The NWS issued the watch just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

There is enough instability and wind shear in place that the potential exists for a few strong to severe t’storms this evening.

The biggest threat comes from large hail but a tornado or two can not be ruled out between the Quad Cities and Chicago.

While the watch is scheduled until 10 p.m., it will likely be canceled earlier than that in the Quad Cities.
