Written by Lily Fisher — 0 Views

In the ever-evolving landscape of social media, there emerges a breed of content creators who push the boundaries of acceptability. One such individual is Bacari-Bronze O’Garro, better known by his online alias, Mizzy.

Mizzy has gained notoriety on TikTok for his daring and controversial pranks, ranging from harmless to acts that veer into illegality. However, his recent escapades have landed him in hot water again, as he faces the consequences of breaching a court order.

The enigmatic prankster was arrested after defiantly posting a series of new videos online, further amplifying the scrutiny surrounding his controversial persona. Ogarro’s audacious entry into a stranger’s home, captured on video and shared with the world, propelled him into the spotlight.

The video, touted as a prank, quickly drew sharp criticism from the online community and politicians, who condemned his actions as “abhorrent” and “criminal.” Unfazed by the backlash, he stands resolute in his defense of these videos that have captivated millions, despite their divisive nature.

Here, we delve into the mind of TikTok’s enfant terrible in an exclusive interview with The Independent, where he shares his perspective on his arrest, the motivations behind his pranks, and the blurred line between entertainment and criminality.

Mizzy claimed people are trying to slander him in an interview

Amidst the growing controversy surrounding his provocative TikTok pranks, Mizzy has been embroiled in a battle to defend his actions.

In an interview, he suggested that he is being targeted by individuals attempting to tarnish his reputation and attributed part of his negative response to his videos to being Black.

Unapologetically, he acknowledged that controversy, although not necessarily favorable, is the key to gaining recognition and popularity in social media. He asserted that he is well aware of the consequences of his actions and deliberately provokes outrage.

Despite this, he claimed to discourage others from imitating his behavior. He appears to have an unwavering focus on the importance of engagement and the act of people talking about him.

After being criticized by Members of Parliament and others who label his conduct as “criminal,” he exhibits a carefree attitude. He stated that he doesn’t have much to say to those who criticize him, emphasizing that he knows himself and his intentions, as do his fans.

Labour’s shadow DCMS minister, Alex Davies-Jones, describes his content as “abhorrent.” In a separate interview with journalist Piers Morgan, he was described as an “idiot” but recognized for his ability to seize the media spotlight.

As a minority ethnic individual, he contended that he was a target of slander. He asserted that his pranks did not possess malicious intentions and highlighted that he takes responsibility for resolving any situations that may have escalated too far, ensuring that he addresses the aftermath with the individuals involved.

Who is the TikTok prankster, Mizzy?

Mizzy hails from the Hackney borough in London. Growing up in the Stoke Newington area of the city before later moving to Dartford, Kent, he experienced a tumultuous upbringing in a single-parent household.

His journey into content creation took root in year 8 or 9 when he faced disciplinary issues in school and was eventually expelled three times. During this phase, he began considering content creation as a more serious career path.

Recognizing the power of pushing boundaries and creating increasingly audacious videos, he noticed that the more he upped the ante and produced wilder content, the more online attention and engagement he received. This realization became the driving force behind his continued pursuit of pushing the limits of his pranks.

The TikTok platform became the stage for his antics, where he established his online presence under the moniker Mizzy. His account showcases videos of him entering people’s vehicles and houses without permission and engaging in harassment.

Despite the divisive nature of his content, his pranks have gained a significant following on TikTok, with his videos garnering a substantial amount of engagement and views. As a young content creator born in 2004 or 2005, Mizzy’s unconventional path has captivated attention, generating interest in his background and motivations.

Mizzy has been arrested multiple times on criminal charges

Mizzy has had numerous encounters with the law, resulting in multiple arrests and probable jail time. In May 2022, he was issued a community protection notice that prohibited him from trespassing on private property.

However, he again faced legal trouble on May 15, 2023, when he breached the community protection order, leading to a fine of £365. Additionally, he was served with a two-year criminal behavior order.

The charges against him involved endangering safety after allegedly entering a train driver’s cab in Stratford, East London, and interfering with the controls and safety equipment. A video lasting 40 seconds captured O’Garro jokingly interacting with the controls and posing questions regarding calling the police.

Before this incident, he had faced previous arrests related to clips showing him harassing Jewish people. His videos showcased problematic behavior, including entering random houses, taking people’s pets without consent, approaching strangers and making distressing remarks, and damaging property in a library.

He defended some of his actions as staged and claimed ownership of the destroyed book in the library scene. In court proceedings held at Thames Magistrates’ Court, O’Garro admitted to one count of failing to comply with a community protection notice.

Judge Charlotte Crangle subsequently issued him a two-year criminal behavior order, which included specific prohibitions such as not posting videos on social media without documented consent, refraining from trespassing on private property, and avoiding the Westfield Centre in Stratford.
