The Blacklist season 10 changes release date and time for final episodes

Written by Chloe Ramirez — 0 Views

Not only has The Blacklist recently changed its release date and time schedule, but season 10 episode 18 has now sadly been delayed.

The Blacklist has remained a staple part of the TV watch lists for millions of fans around the world since its debut all the way back in 2013.

The ongoing tenth season notably shifted its release schedule from mid-week to weekends, having returned to NBC in February of this year; however, a new change that fans need to be aware of before we get to Red’s final chapter.

The remaining episodes from The Blacklist season 10 have changed both their release dates and times once again – this alteration occurred after the premiere of episode 14 in late May, with episode 18 now being delayed worldwide.

The Blacklist season 10 episode 18 delayed

The Blacklist season 10 episode 18, originally scheduled to broadcast on Thursday, June 15, has sadly been delayed.

The reason for the delay is due to NBC instead airing coverage of the 2023 US Open Championship, forcing The Blacklist out of its typical programming block.

The good news for fans is that the delay to season 1 episode 18 will not be an extended one, now scheduled to premiere on Thursday, June 22.

The Blacklist season 10 changes release date and time for last episodes

The Blacklist season 10 has been releasing new episodes on NBC every Sunday at 10 PM; however, that changed after episode 14 aired on May 28.

Following the broadcast of episode 14 ‘The Nowhere Bride’ on May 28, The Blacklist subsequently changed to a Thursday evening release schedule, starting from June 1.

That meant that we would be getting not one, not two, but three new episodes of The Blacklist over this five-day period (May 28 – June 1). New episodes will also change release times from 10 PM to 8 PM ET, meaning no more late nights staying up to watch the latest episodes!

Thankfully, new episodes will still be made available to stream via Peacock the next day after the NBC broadcast – meaning that fans can now catch up every Friday from June 2 onwards.

The Blacklist season 10 was originally shifted to the later 10 PM programming slot because NBC wanted to promote the new series ‘Found’ in the more advantageous 8 PM broadcasting block and the recently revived Magnum P.I. was already airing from 9 PM.

The Blacklist season 10 consists of 22 episodes in total, with remaining episodes set to release on the following dates:

  • S10 episode 14 ‘The Nowhere Bride’ – Sunday, May 28 at 10 PM
  • S10 episode 15 ‘The Hat Trick’ – Thursday, June 1 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 16 ‘Blair Foster’ – Thursday, June 1 at 9 PM
  • S10 episode 17 ‘The Morgana Logistics Corporation’ – Thursday, June 8 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 18 ‘Wormwood’ – Thursday, June 22 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 19 ‘Room 417’ – Thursday, June 29 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 20 ‘Arthur Hudson’ – Thursday, July 6 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 21 ‘Raymond Reddington: Part 1’ – Thursday, July 13 at 8 PM
  • S10 episode 22 ‘Raymond Reddington: Good Night’ – Thursday, July 13 at 9 PM

Fans should note that there will not be a new episode of The Blacklist on June 15 and the season 10 finale will actually consist of two back-to-back episodes instead.

Will there be a season 11 of The Blacklist?

Unfortunately, season 10 will be the final chapter of The Blacklist, with NBC confirming back in February 2023 that this broadcast would be the last time that we see Raymond Reddington grace our screens.

Speaking on the end of The Blacklist, showrunner John Eisendrath celebrated that “After 10 years, hundreds of Blacklist cases and more than 200 episodes produced, we’re honored to reach our conclusion,” adding that “It’s been incredibly fun to create the strange, devious and delightful Blacklisters to challenge Raymond Reddington and our FBI Task Force each week.”

“We would like to thank everyone at NBC and Sony, our extraordinary crew who make the impossible happen every day, our endlessly inventive writers and producers, and our remarkable cast who brought life to these characters. We appreciate our dedicated fanbase who came along for this wonderful ride and are excited to share this final season with them.”

Lisa Katz, president of scripted content at NBC Universal Television and Streaming also acknowledged how “It isn’t often that a series resonates so deeply with an audience that it airs for 10 seasons, but The Blacklist proved to be a perfect combination of highly talented producers, stellar writing, a cast that never failed to deliver and a crew that always rose to the occasion.”

“A huge thank you to our partners at Sony, everyone from the past decade who made this show an integral part of NBC’s storied history and, of course, a special nod to James Spader, whose performance remains nothing short of spectacular.”

Considering the popularity of The Blacklist, fans would be forgiven for expecting countless spin-off titles and sequels to be produced when season 10 ends on July 13. However, it appears that NBC will be steering clear of any more spin-off titles for the franchise after The Blacklist: Redemption was famously canceled after just one season in 2017 for low ratings.
