Shoichiro Toyoda, the oldest brother in the family at the age of 97 passed his last breath on February 14, 2023, Tuesday. Death was attributed to heart failure. A funeral service was kept within close family members. He died less than a month after his son, Akio Toyoda, 66, the third generation of the founding family that runs the automaker, announced that he would step down as chairman and would become president.
