ACTRESS Kira Martin has revealed her life was “left in ruins” when a saucy snap she sent to an ex was leaked online.

Kira, 22, best known as Letitia ­Powell on Channel 4 drama Shameless, said her revenge porn horror left her a prisoner in her own home.

She had sent a picture of herself topless to her then-boyfriend, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when she was just 16.

But in 2015, a year after their two-year relationship ended, the picture appeared on Twitter.

Kira, from Manchester, said: “I was just young and had trusted him. What sort of person does such a thing? I was so ashamed and angry. I knew it must have been him.

“I reported it straight away to ­Twitter and it was taken down around an hour later. But it was too late — the damage had been done.”

Kira was forced to put her acting career on hold as she was too embarrassed to audition for roles.

She said: “It crushed my ­confidence and self-esteem. I’ve only just started to get my confidence back and started going on auditions again.”

Kira hopes speaking out will encourage other victims to report their ordeals.
