On March 9, 2016, Sterling Police arrested Mahali Juarez Granados, 44, of Oregon, Illinois for Criminal Sexual Assault and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. The charges stem from an allegation of sexual contact with a person between the ages of 13 and 16. Granados was arrested and transported to the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of bond. 

Sterling Police were assisted by the Oregon Police Department and Ogle County Sheriff’s Department.
