Rickey Smiley, whose son Brandon was 32 years old when he died, shared his grief at the death of his son on Instagram. After sharing the sad news of his son’s passing on Instagram, the comedian and radio host shared a video on Instagram in which he spoke out about his grief.

In light of the tragedy, he admitted, “I feel awful for my other kids,” adding that “sadness is sinking in” on him and his loved ones. “My children don’t understand what’s going on.

There is a lack of direction on their part. Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be part of a group whose members were expected to participate in the ritual of burying their children. A dreadful nightmare has come true.”

After learning of his son’s death, Smiley said he didn’t cry for a while. In the beginning, he said, “shock” prevented him from sobbing, but now he feels like “someone trampling on my chest and it’s just non-stop.”

Smiley confessed that, despite the obvious, “tears are streaming down your eyes but you ain’t sobbing.” Then, “you cry, yet no tears fall from your eyes.” He also explained that his youngest son, Malik, is suffering greatly as a result of this tragedy.

Speaking of his son, Smiley stated, “He had his own troubles.” The younger Smiley is 21 years old. He’s had a lot going on, including despair and anxiety, and he’s battling for his life.

On Saturday, a memorial service will be held in Brandon Smiley’s native Birmingham, Alabama. Smiley posted on Instagram about the defeat on the way to Birmingham. “This morning I received some really discouraging information,” he stated.

I’m sorry to be the one to break the news, but I want to convey it to you now before word gets out.” Smiley further, said that his religion helped him get through the difficult moment. “Thanks be to God, I got to spend so much time with my kid.
