Ankita was a receptionist worker at the Pulkit Arya‘s resort. Her father told the police that Ankita went missing on the night of 18 September 2022. Police arrested Vanantara resort owner Pulkit, Saurabh Bhaskar, and Ankit Gupta.

Saurabh told that an argument happened in her Room with Pulkit in front of Saurabh and Ankit on 18 September. Later they left the resort around 8 pm. She was on the bike with Pulkit whereas Saurabh and Ankit were on a bike.

They all had some snacks and went to Chilla Barrage at around 8:30 pm where Pulkit, Saurabh, and Ankit consumed liquor. They had another argument with Ankita and Pulkit pushed her from a cliff into the river.

Ankita’s father told,

“I went to the resort to check the CCTV footage, but the camera was broken. The local revenue police were taking the side of the accused. I even saw the accused with them. Left with no option, I found the assembly speaker’s number and informed her everything over the phone. She belongs to a nearby village. She patiently listened and directed the district magistrate to immediately register a case following which the local patwari (revenue police inspector) lodged a case of abduction under IPC section 365 on September 21 before it was transferred to the regular police the next morning.”

Angry local people including women in large numbers gathered at the resort at vandalized it. The people thrashed Pulkit, Saurabh, and Ankit after stopping the police vehicle which was taking them to a local court.
