Pokimane's shirt opens on Twitch stream in awkward wardrobe malfunction
Pokimane’s shirt accidentally opened during a Twitch stream this week and the awkward wardrobe malfunction hasn’t gone unnoticed.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Imane Anys, is a Moroccan-Candian Twitch streamer whose most-played game is League of Legends.
She also has a YouTube channel where she has over 6.6 million subscribers and shares lifestyle, challenges and vlog content.
This week, Pokimane is the talk of the internet after an accidental nip slip, and she could even face a Twitch ban for it.
Pokimane suffers wardrobe malfunction
Pokimane was streaming on Twitch on Tuesday (November 15) when the awkward wardrobe malfunction happened.
She was wearing a sheer purple and orange top that tied at the front as she played the popular shooter game Overwatch 2.
A little into the stream, she got up and walked away from her computer for a while. When she returned, her shirt was open, leaving part of her chest on display.
At first, she didn’t realize anything was wrong and carried on as usual, saying: “Hello, so I have a scientific question for everybody.”
However, she soon noticed the embarrassing malfunction and quickly went to change her shirt before carrying on with the stream.
Streamer deletes open shirt video
As soon as she realized what had happened, Pokimane ended the stream and deleted the VOD so that no one could share it again.
A VOD, or Video on Demand, is created when you archive content previously streamed live on Twitch so people can watch it later.
Pokimane deleted this archive footage and started a new stream to continue playing the game, but fans had sadly already shared copies on Twitter.
Some people are saying they feel bad for the streamer following the incident as copies of the malfunction continue to spread online.
Streamer could face Twitch ban
The streamer hasn’t addressed the wardrobe malfunction following the stream, and Twitch hasn’t responded either.
However, many are fearing Pokimane could get a temporary ban or suspension as the nip slip would violate the platform’s nudity policy.
Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that “nudity and sexually explicit content or activities” are prohibited on the site.
However, it doesn’t say what happens when the nudity is accidental, such as due to Pokimane’s wardrobe malfunction.
If the streamer did get a ban, she would update her fans on Twitter and Instagram.
