People are 'boycotting' Squishmallows following CEO's support for Israel
People on social media have been talking about ‘boycotting’ Squishmallows after finding out that the company that makes them, Jazwares, supports Israel amid the Palestine conflict.
The Palestine and Israel conflict has been a trending topic of discussion on social media and users have been upfront about the country they support. Amid this, there has been a huge backlash against all the companies who have expressed their support for Israel. The latest is Squishmallows.
What did the CEO say that led to the boycott?
Judd Zebersky, the CEO and founder of the company, stated that he supports Israel on LinkedIn. He said: “We stand firmly with Israel and its right to defend its citizens against the despicable and barbaric actions of Hamas terrorists. Over the past three days, over 900 Israelis injured…”
The statement continued: “Make no mistake: Hamas is a terrorist organization with a charter calling for eradicating Israel. It’s a somber reminder of Israel’s genuine and daunting challenges, and our hearts go out to all those affected by such evil.”
He further noted that two of the interns were asked to return to Israel to defend their country amid the Palestine conflict.
What is Judd Zebersky’s net worth?
Judd reportedly has an estimated net worth of $8 million. He has been working in the toy industry for a very long time and even partnered with his wife, Laura, to start Jazwares Cares.
The project is focused on donating toys to underprivileged children while also incorporating the concept of the Adopt-A-School program.
Some of the other brands that come under the company are Cocomelon, Blippi, Petooties, and more.
