On the early morning of Monday, September 4th, we lost a beautiful soul, Penny Thompson, the Thompson’s family announced.

According to reports, a young girl {unofficially identified as Penny Thompson} on a bicycle was fatally struck by a driver in south Minneapolis on Monday morning. The crash occurred on the 5600 block of Second Avenue South at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The identity and age of the girl involved in the incident were not disclosed by the Minneapolis Police Department, who referred to her as a juvenile. According to the police, the driver promptly pulled over and commenced providing assistance.

Authorities have stated that there are no suspicions of criminal activity.

Penny was reportedly exiting a driveway on her bicycle when the crash happened. She was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation.
