Paul Whelan’s Conviction and Sentencing

On 15 June 2020, Paul was convicted and sentenced to 16 years in a Russian prison for surveillance in a court in Moscow. His attorney said they believed Russia would now looking for a prisoner swap.

Whelan is currently held in a high-security prison, IK-17, which is 8 hour drive southeast of Moscow.
