You’ll notice Brady Street looks different when you drive past Palmer College.

The school unveiled its new athletic facility for students and staff at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Construction began last year. You might know the facility as the old Alumni Auditorium.

The new 4,600-square-foot building features more than $500,000 worth of equipment, including an indoor track on the second floor.

To build the new athletic complex the school tore down the original structure.

School officials say the goal was to build a state of the art facility to give the college an edge in recruiting and retaining students.

“We thought this was going to be a relatively simple renovation,” said Jim O’Connor, Palmer College spokesperson. “Last winter you saw 12 girders and a roof and that was it. It has been a major transformation.”

The public unveiling of the complex will be held on Monday. That date is symbolic to the college, as it marks the first adjustment ever made on the grounds.
