OnlyFans Email confirmation spam has several people worried

Written by Chloe Ramirez — 0 Views

On December 25, several people complained that they have received an Email confirmation spam by OnlyFans.

OnlyFans has been taking over the world since 2016. A couple of months back, there were rumors that the subscription-based app might make some changes. However, after a long discussion, things were decided to be kept normal.

While people were happy to hear that, the app seems to have found itself in another problem as several individuals complained about receiving an OnlyFans Email confirmation even though they have not signed up.

OnlyFans’ Email confirmation spam

On December 25, people took to social media to talk about the spam Email they have been receiving.

The Email read: “Welcome to OnlyFans! You are almost ready to start interacting with other users. Please confirm your Email address by clicking the link below.” This is further accompanied by a link.

Has the company responded?

As of now, OnlyFans has not addressed this issue. However, we advise you to not click the link. Since several people have received the same Email, it is possible that it is an act of phishing.

This is not the first time OnlyFans has come across such an issue. Last year, several people got a spam Email that asked them to send their login details like passwords.

The company was quick to address this in a tweet. They wrote: “Please be wary of any email claiming to be from an official OnlyFans source. We will only ever email from an @OnlyFans.com email domain and we will never ask for your password. If you receive any suspicious emails such as the one below, please do not reply but report them to us.”

Recent controversy regarding OnlyFans

Recently, OnlyFans had decided to change their terms. The new guidelines stated that explicit content would be banned from the platform. Hearing this, several users protected and spoke about leaving the app.

However, OnlyFans was quick to change its decision and decided to continue its platform as it was before. In a statement to the audience, they wrote: “Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”
