One dead after fire in Fairport, Iowa
UPDATE: An autopsy conducted by State Pathologists has confirmed the body recovered from Wednesday night’s fire is that of 66-year-old Randall Lee McDonald.
Medical and dental records and multiple interviews with the family were all used to determine McDonald’s identity.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office will continue to investigate the incident, as there is no cause for the fire at this time.
EARLIER UPDATE: Officials tell Local 4 News that one person is dead after a house fire last night in Fairport, Iowa.
According to a medical examiner investigator from Muscatine County, the fire started around 5:30 p.m. on Water Street.
No information about the victim has been released.
