In the previous chapter of My Lv999 Love For Yamada-Kun, Akane’s mother asks her to invite Daichi and Takaya over, but it is really awkward for Akane. We all know very well that Akane probably did not want to call and talk to Takaya. She just dumps it on Kaede, who asks Daichi if Takaya still has a crush on Akane.

Daichi gives his usual nonchalant response, which is exactly like him. Kaede just ends up calling Takaya and asks him about dinner, as well as if he still has feelings for Akane. She also straight up tells him about Yamada and that Takaya should let go of his unrequited feelings.

Takaya asks what kind of a person Yamada is, and he probably feels a little bit competitive towards him. Kaede does say that he is very handsome and all but Takaya is not really convinced. I mean, she is his first love, so he must feel a sense of rivalry.

The call just ends without any closure, but there isn’t much that Kaede can do, honestly. At dinner, Akane’s mother acts up again and asks Yamada if he would like to stay for another day and go to the festival that is being held nearby. It’s cute because Akane gets mad once again because she thinks that Yamada might agree since he feels pressured, but he really did seem like he wanted to go.

After that, there is a flashback scene about Akane and Takaya when they were in high school. Takaya was the typical hot-headed teen with anger issues, and he of course he liked Akane a lot. One day, he tells Akane that she could ride his motorbike, and Akane agrees.

However, she falls down and has to go to hospital. Takaya feels really ashamed about it, and he decides to cut ties with Akane because he feels that he isn’t good enough for her. That was about it, and he stayed out of Akane’s life after that, but he still liked her. Then, we see a panel of them seeing each other at the festival that Akane’s mother mentioned before.
