On November 4, 2015, Molly Suzanne Barlow made an indelible mark on those she touched through her talents, compassion, and unyielding faith. Born May 1 1940 in Cody Wyoming and spending much of her life there as she focused on family matters while loving music and art – as well as keeping strong spiritual roots – this article honors Molly Barlow’s life and legacy for everyone who knew her.

A Childhood in Sheridan:

Molly spent most of her formative years in Sheridan, Wyoming where she graduated from Sheridan High School with numerous academic honors in 1958. Beyond academic pursuits, Molly displayed remarkable musical talent as an accomplished pianist who entertained audiences.

Nursing Education and Sorority Life:

After graduating high school, Molly pursued her nursing education at the University of Wyoming. Over four years of hard study led to her graduation as a registered nurse in 1962. Additionally, while in college Molly became part of Delta Delta Delta sorority forming lasting friendships that would play an instrumental role throughout her life.

Molly Barlow found herself embarking on an exciting new chapter when she married Gillette native Bob Barlow on September 1, 1962. Following their union, Molly began working as a nurse in Gillette while also welcoming two sons: Michael and Robert. Molly’s nurturing nature extended beyond professional nursing duties; she dedicated herself to caring for both her family as well as being part of her community.

Community Service and Recognition

Molly was passionate about making a positive difference in her community and was recognized for it with recognition as one of the “Outstanding Young Women of America”. Molly made every effort to leave a positive mark in others’ lives through teaching youth fellowship at Presbyterian Church. Those efforts earned her an award as part of this prestigious list in 1970. Molly’s passion was at the core of who she was – it exemplified her character!

A Journey to East Africa and Beyond:

Molly began an unforgettable adventure with her family in 1973 by travelling to East Africa. Their travels were inspired by Bob’s passion for travel, music, art and culture; exploring Africa together opened up new experiences while broadening horizons – just the start of an extraordinary lifelong exploration!

New York City and Pursuit of Education:

New York City and Pursuit of Education: On their travels, Molly and Bob spent one year living in New York City’s vibrant centre. Here, Molly began studying liberal arts to earn her master’s degree – further showing their shared commitment to lifelong learning. This period in their lives marked their shared passion for intellectual stimulation and cultural enrichment.

Passion for Art, Music and Dance: Molly was deeply passionate about art and literature. She took pleasure in attending Broadway musicals, art exhibitions and book clubs to nurture her soul through the arts and create connections through culture. Molly and Bob’s shared love of dancing from their time spent in Santa Fe New Mexico continued to bring great pleasure throughout their lives.

Molly found great pleasure in being a grandmother. Her love for John, Charley Jo and Teddy knew no bounds; she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for and supporting them as she left a legacy of care that will always be treasured.

Molly Barlow had the heart of a servant, going above and beyond to ensure the comfort and happiness of those around her. Her generous hospitality extended to houseguests whom she welcomed warmly into her home with graciousness. Her kind words and welcoming smile demonstrated her generous nature.

Molly Was a Woman of Faith

Above all else, Molly was a person of profound faith. She expressed her devotion to scripture and lived her life according to what she believed. Molly’s belief provided strength for her actions while simultaneously inspiring those lucky enough to know her.

Molly Suzanne Barlow marked the end of a life filled with passion, grace, and unfaltering devotion to family and community. Her legacy lives on through Bob, their sons Michael and Robert as well as Tracy and Cindy Barlow; Molly touched many lives through her compassion, talents, and faith which will remain treasured memories forever. Her life reminds us all how one person can have such an enormous effect on others’ lives – leaving behind a lasting mark of kindness that will be celebrated for generations.

On November 12th, 2015, a memorial service to honour Molly was held at Sheridan Wesleyan Church. Donations in memory of Molly were directed toward both the “Molly S. Barlow Memorial Fund” at the University of Wyoming Nursing Program as well as her preferred charity or benefit of choice.
