Missing duck hunter Tyler Doyle update: Volunteer team ends searches
A volunteer search and rescue team has ended searches for missing duck hunter Tyler Doyle, the group announced on social media.
Tyler disappeared after a duck hunting trip with a friend off the coast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The 22-year-old has been reported a missing person since January 26 and search attempts from authorities and other volunteer groups have been unsuccessful.
One rescue group has decided to return home after commencing work earlier in February.

The Wings of Hope Search and Rescue have decided to put an end to their search attempts for missing Tyler.
The group announced the update in a Facebook post, writing: “We had to tell this loving family that there was nothing more we could do as a search and rescue group. My heart goes out to Tyler Doyle’s wife and family.”
Wings of Hope Search and Rescue is a non-profit organization from Wisconsin that specializes in aerial and underwater search and rescue.
They joined law enforcement units on February 7 and they assisted collective search efforts with underwater sonar and 3-D imaging, cadaver dogs, and drones.
The group’s announcement comes after famous radio host Jeffrey Vandergrift was reported missing on February 23.
Law enforcement units continue search
While members of the volunteer group have returned home, authorities said that the search for Tyler will continue with the help of other teams.
In a statement published on Wednesday (March 1, 2023), SCDNR wrote: “Law enforcement units and others will continue the search for missing duck hunter Tyler Doyle today. We will search the ocean and surrounding areas by boat, weather permitting, with the Brunswick County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office.
The statement ended with the note that authorities, volunteers, and family members will continue assisting other teams in the search efforts.

Tyler disappeared in January
According to previous reports, Tyler was on a duck hunting trip with a friend when their boat started taking in water. Officials later said the second person was rescued.
A couple of weeks ago, Tyler’s family and friends gathered and held a vigil in the hope of his safe return.
