Mike Schank was born on August 3, 1966 in the United States, is a close friend of independent filmmaker Mark Borchardt and helped him produce the short film Coven. Coven was shot in black and white and featured Milwaukee actors. Despite mixed reviews, the short film proved Mark to be a skilled director. Mike then starred in the 1999 documentary American Movie.
