Micheal Latt Death; Homeless Woman Charged With Shooting of Hollywood Philanthropist

Written by Olivia Shea — 0 Views

A homeless woman was charged with murder after breaking into a Mid-City residence and shooting a man during a robbery. Hollywood philanthropist Michael Latt, 33, was shot.

In 2019, Latt created Lead with Love and apparently successfully recruited celebrities for charity causes.

According to Deadline, Latt’s brother is Franklin Latt, chief of talent at the influential Creative Artists Agency, and his stepmother is Michelle Satter, a Sundance Film Festival executive who will receive an honorary Oscar next year.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office charged 36-year-old homeless woman Jameelah Elena Michl with murder, burglary, and weapon enhancement on Wednesday. She was on $3 million bail.

It happened around 6 p.m. in the 900 block of Alandele Avenue. Police found Latt shot by an intruder when they arrived.

Police say Michl waited at the scene before being arrested. Police found Michl living in her car, which was taken as evidence.

“I saw somebody standing right here on the street with her hands up so I’m assuming that’s her, and there was a conversation about her car being parked on the street,” neighbor Averie Shevin told Eyewitness News Tuesday.

Shevin stated Latt lived with his girlfriend and dogs. Latt’s mom arrived to take him to the movies, she said.

I asked, ‘How’s he? Will he survive? My heart stopped when she said, ‘I don’t know if he’s going to make it,’ “Shevin.
