Out of all the MBTI® personality types, the INFP is among the quietest and most reserved. Their idealistic and optimistic approach is often overshadowed by there introverted nature and their inability to feel comfortable in the spotlight.

They can, however, be the most inspiring as they look for the good in everyone and everything they do. As an INFP, they use their creativity and ideas to approach any situation and it could lead to great results and make for engaging and lovable movie characters.

INFP personalities want to have a purpose in their life and are intrigued by human nature and meditating on life. These introspective personalities are engaging in movies and are characters that tend to care deeply for the others around them and the situations they find themselves in while also searching to understand themselves and wanting everyone to live in harmony around them.

Mr. Miyagi (The Karate Kid)

Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid franchise is an empathetic, quiet, and calm character who takes a while to open up after protagonist Daniel meets him in the first movie. Mr. Miyagi doesn’t open up to everyone and doesn’t mind if people underestimate him because he knows his true worth without having to prove anything to anyone else.

He’s an introspective character who meditates on his own life and tries to help others in creative ways. He truly cares for Daniel like a son and has meditated about his own purpose in life and tries to help Daniel find his passion as well.

Dwayne from Little Miss Sunshine is an INFP personality who is younger and struggling to figure out who he truly is and what his purpose should be in life. His greatest wish in life is to become a pilot to the point he stops talking in protest until his parents allow him to start training. He’s a quiet, intelligent, and creative character who is completely unique in his oddball family.

Edward Scissorhands is a very quiet character who always seems to be deep in thought and confused by his new surroundings. He thought he might not fully understand his place in his new suburban environment, he still cares about those around him.

He helps his new family discover what’s most important in life as he connects deeply with them and is a creative and imaginative presence outside of their normal daily routine.

Will is a quiet and introspective character who keeps getting pulled back into helping law enforcement because he cares even though his process usually ends up hurting him. He cares about his wife and his child while also caring too much about each case he works on.

Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird is a quiet and introspective lawyer who takes on the case of defending a Black man in Alabama in a racially charged case where he is obviously not guilty. The widowed Atticus is a knowledgeable and gentle person who raises his kids to be morally just and do what is right.

He’s a creative and intelligent lawyer who believes his purpose in life is to protect his children and those who are innocent and he does a good job at it.

Frodo Baggins (The Lord of the Rings trilogy)

Frodo was the main protagonist in the Lord of The Rings trilogy, in which he was responsible for destroying the ring with malicious properties. He never wanted to be a hero and just wanted to live a normal life with no drama or adventure.

Like any INFP, he’s uncomfortable in unfamiliar terrain and he doesn’t have a lot of confidence in himself. But his optimism and willingness to risk his life for the greater good of the world make him a true hero and INFP.

Jamie Sullivan was one of the protagonists in A Walk To Remember and played to perfection by the talented Mandy Moore. Jamie didn’t have a lot of friends in school and dressed very modestly and lived very sheltered due to her pastor dad.

She was so reserved, she often didn’t care about what other people thought of her and she only became comfortable with Shane after spending a lot of time with him. What makes her an INFP is her unwavering faith throughout the movie, even on her deathbed.

Tom Hansen (500 Days of Summer)

As one of the main characters in 500 Days of Summer, the movie revolves around Tom’s heartbreaking breakup with his longtime girlfriend (Zoey Deschanel) and his steps to recover. When in the relationship, he appears clingy and used to a certain routine that he goes through every day.

Tom displays a lot of the most negative INFP qualities like how he took things too personally and refused to change, and his long mourning period. He also displays some good INFP qualities like his creativity and life-long pursuit of peace and harmony.

Hermione Granger (The Harry Potter franchise)

Well known for being the “brightest witch of her class” Hermione was a very important part of the famous trio. In the beginning, she seemed like she might be a bit obnoxious and annoying due to her know-it-all attitude and her lack of social skills, but as she got more comfortable, she became a loving and loyal friend.

Hermione displays a lot of INFP qualities, like their tendency to have a small circle of friends, her introverted personality, and her open-mindedness.

Lucy Pevensie (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe)

She may have been the youngest of the Pevensie siblings, but Lucy is the most optimistic and idealistic of the bunch. She was the first to discover Narnia and her childlike innocence made her progressive and open-minded to all the creatures in the mystical world.

Cinna (The Hunger Games)

Cinna was a minor character in the Hunger Games but he left a lasting impression on both the audience and Katniss’s life. He was the only person from the Capitol that had faith in Katniss and always treated her with respect and love, being a driving force for the revolution.

He even dies with honor, being killed for his role in the revolution and being remembered by Katniss as a source of inspiration postpartum.

Pacha (The Emperor’s New Groove)

Pacha was one of the main protagonists in Emperor’s New Groove and a huge reason for Kuzco’s transformation from a spoiled and arrogant Emperor to a loving and understanding one.

Even with his ill-feeling towards Kuzco and his pompous ways, he still manages to help him and put his feeling aside to assist in turning Kuzco back to a human.

Luke Skywalker (Star Wars)

This next hero needs no introduction. Arguably one of the most famous characters in pop culture, Luke Skywalker was the hope that overthrew the Empire and brought peace back to the galaxy in Star Wars.

It took him a while to accept his fate, as he lacked confidence and experience but his optimism and ideals led to him being a hero and it helped him become the most powerful Jedi to ever live.

Wanda Maximoff (The MCU)

Wanda wasn’t good at first, being brainwashed to fight against the Avengers, but she quickly becomes one of the most powerful characters in the MCU. She’s a woman of few words and often prefers to sit on the sidelines but is not afraid to fight for the ones she loves.

She’s hard to read and understand because she is shy and reserved, but make no mistake she is a valuable hero and a powerful one.

Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

For being the most beautiful and most sought out young woman in her small town, Belle is a very humble and modest girl, preferring to keep her nose behind a book and care for her father.

After she discovers the Beast, her optimism and inspiration become a huge reason for the Beast’s change of heart and his transformation back to human.
