On Wednesday, 7 June 2023, the Maharashtra police arrested 56-year-old Manoj Sahni for allegedly killing his live-in partner Saraswati and dismembering her body.

The Mumbai police disclosed that Manoj chopped his partner’s body with a tree cutter and boiled her body parts in a pressure cooker. He later filled them into plastic bags to dispose of them.

The victim of this horrifying has been recognized as 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya.

It is alleged that after the murder, Manoj cut Saraswati’s body into pieces and was boiling them in a cooker to destroy the evidence.

Who Is Manoj Sahni?

Manoj Sahani employed at a small ration shop in Boriwali, had lived with Saraswati Vaidya in flat 704 at the Geeta Akash Deep building in Geeta Nagar Phase 7 for the last 3 years.

The police took action after local residents called the Nayanagar police station around 7 pm on Wednesday 7 June 2023 and reported a foul smell emanating from the flat.

When the police reached the spot, they found Manoj Sahni sitting inside. He tried to escape upon seeing the police but was nabbed with the help of the residents.

When police entered the flat, they discovered more than 12-13 pieces of the woman’s body at the site. Manoj had reportedly disposed of some of the body parts over the past 2 to 3 days.

As a preliminary investigation report, the accused had 1st strangulated the victim to death. After that, he used electric cutters to chop the victim’s body parts into several pieces.

The accused later boiled the dismembered body parts and then filled them in plastic bags, and he was seen feeding stray dogs in the locality, something that he had never done in the past.
