Whiteside County residents can learn more about a senior health insurance program at a meeting in Rock Falls next week.

State Representative Brad Fritts (R-Dixon), State Representative Ryan Spain (R-Peoria) and the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) are holding a free “Medicare 101” event on Monday, January 22nd from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce, 601 W. 10th Street.

“There is always more to be done for our senior population,” said Rep. Fritts. “This free informational seminar is one resource we can provide our senior community to ensure they are able to fully utilize their Medicare benefits.”

Seminars will be hosted by experts from SHIP who can provide information and guidance about Medicare. The information will help Medicare recipients make better decisions about their coverage options. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions about the program.
