Kurulus Osman season 5 confirmed to be in development, October release and teaser
The iconic historical drama series Kurulus Osman has finally been officially renewed for season 5 by ATV, bringing Bey into a new era.
Quality and consistency is the name of the game for Osman Bey and Bala Hatun who have provided fans with drama, romance, and epic battles almost every single week during its season 4 broadcast back in October 2022. Thankfully, Kurulus Osman has just been renewed for season 5 by ATV -here is everything to know about Osman Bey’s return.
When the season 4 finale came and went without a season 5 announcement back in June 2023, fans became nervous about the possibility of a significant delay to the hit series’ fifth broadcast.
Thankfully, our prayers have been answered: Bozdag Films and ATV have officially announced that Kurulus Osman season 5 is now in production!
The announcement was made on social media with a new character poster of Osman Bey, with the caption “Our first poster of Establishment Osman Season 5 is here!”

Looking back, it was only ever a matter of time before the fifth season of Kurulus Osman went into early development with showrunner Mehmet Bozdag already teasing that there is more content to come back in June: “See you in the new season”:
“From the first episode to the one hundred and thirtieth episode, for four seasons, on this arduous road that stretches from “principal to state”; With great efforts, we have come to the end of Season 4. I would like to thank our actors, our team, our audience who have not left us alone and who have always been our supporters, our channel ATV and its valuable managers, with whom we have walked together on this road for one hundred and thirty episodes. See you in the new season…”
Kurulus Osman regularly tops the weekly viewership charts for its domestic audience, widely considered to be both the ATV networks and Bozdag Films’ most successful original production to date.
Neither the network nor the production company will want to see such a lucrative title as Kurulus Osman shelved, especially since the series has experienced a colossal surge in popularity outside of Turkey in recent years.
In fact, not only is the series easily popular enough to merit another season but since the show is loosely adapting the story of Osman I, there is also plenty of historical content left to cover.
The season 4 finale is reportedly set to either include or tease the famed Battle of Bapheus, which took place in the year 1301 AD. If the episode 130 finale does include the battle, future seasons could explore the Byzantine-Mongol convergence, the Byzantine-Catalan alliance, the conquest of Yenisehir and later, Bursa.
Minor spoiler warning: Whilst both his age and the exact date of his death remain hotly debated, Osman I passed away at the age of around 68 years old in 1323/24 – meaning there is still several decades’ worth of content that the Kurulus Osman TV series can explore.
Coupling both the success of the series and the availability of content to be explored in future broadcasts, it was only a matter of time before Kurulus Osman season 5 was confirmed.

Kurulus Osman season 5 release date confirmed
Kurulus Osman season 5 is scheduled to premiere via ATV on October 4, in the usual 8 PM local time broadcast slot.
The series has been maintaining a fairly regular pattern of broadcast over the past few seasons from October to June each year.
The Kurulus Osman production cycle breakdown:
- Season 1 aired 27 episodes between November 2019 and June 2020
- Season 2 aired 37 episodes between October 2020 and June 2021
- Season 3 aired 34 episodes between October 2021 and June 2022
- Season 4 aired 32 episodes between October 2022 and June 2023
This means that for the past three seasons; Kurulus Osman airs its season finale in June of each year, and takes the summer broadcast slate off, before returning just a few months later in October.
Interestingly, Kurulus Osman is set to open its production set to the public for tours from June 24, meaning that we may start seeing teasers for the next chapter of Osman Bey’s adventure over the next few weeks.
