During the 2017 BET Awards’ Everyday Struggle filming, hosts Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks questioned him about his absence, Do you believe I was left out of “Bad and Boujee,” he replied.

In response to Takeoff, Budden fled the performance, and before security could step in, a brawl between Migos and Budden and their entourages almost broke out.

On January 27, 2017, Migos’ second studio album, Culture, was released. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and sold 131,000 album-equivalent units, including 44,000 physical sales, in its first week. In July 2017, the album in nation received platinum certification.

On January 26, 2018, the group’s second album, Culture II, was made available. With 199,000 equivalent units sold, including 38,000 sold in its first week of release, it became Migos’ second album to enter number one on the Billboard 200.

On October 23, 2018, Takeoff revealed that The Last Rocket, a solo project, would be published the following month when Culture II was made available for purchase. The song and music video for “Last Memory.” On November 2, 2018, the album was released.

Culture III, the fourth Migos record, was made available on June 11, 2021.

During Takeoff’s lifetime, this would be the last Migos album to be made available.
