John Deere to layoff 100 local workers

Written by Chloe Ramirez — 0 Views

Deere & Company has informed about 100 manufacturing employees that they will be placed on indefinite layoff,
effective April 1.

The layoffs will take place at Deere’s factories in Davenport and Dubuque, Iowa.  Both facilities are part of the company’s construction and forestry division.

About 80 of the layoffs will take place at John Deere Davenport Works site while the remaining 20 affects the Dubuque facility.

Deere said the layoffs “reflect the company’s ongoing efforts to balance the size of its manufacturing workforce with market demand for products at individual factories.”
