Our Take: Like its cousin show, I Am A Stalker is interesting because it has a long interview with the person who did the crime. In Thompson’s case, his interview showed a pretty smart man who sometimes seemed crazy and self-centered and sometimes seemed sorry and regretful. It’s always fascinating to find out what’s going on in the minds of people who have done things that are unimaginable.

But it’s also good that director Alanna McVerry balanced Thompson’s skewered view with the view of at least one of his victims and the mother of the man he killed. It shows that stalking victims have to deal with a police system that isn’t set up to deal with stalking and threats unless something concrete happens, like an attack, a break-in, or, heaven forbid, a murder.

It’s definitely a series that needs to be taken in small doses, because watching it all at once would feel like too much evil. But it’s still worth watching, even though it simplifies a bit too much the order in which these criminals did their things.
