Cast of Naked and Afraid Jake Nodar is a horse trainer, naturalist, activist, and person who cares about the environment. The reality TV star was born to an Irish/Cuban father and a German/Russian mother in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is not his parents’ only child. He has an older brother, one younger brother, and two younger sisters. His mother works at a farm where there are educational programs.
Children learn about farming and the link between farming and the environment. Because of this, Nodar learned to love the outdoors at a young age. It wasn’t a surprise, since his loving dad is also a big fan of the outdoors.

The survivalist was in Mongolia when he found a link to an adventure trip on an Alaskan hiking forum. Since the link didn’t say much, he sent an email to the listed address. Within a few hours, he got a call from someone in casting for a production company.
It was “Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment” on the Discovery Channel. Jake’s audition video was sent to the producers overnight, and they chose him for the project, which aired on the Discovery Channel in 2009.
