Jackson Kalb Proposed To His Wife Melissa During An NBA Game
Jackson Kalb was one of 15 contestants on Top Chef Season 19. He is a chef and businessman in Los Angeles. With his wife, Melissa Kalb, Kalb owns and operates the Italian restaurants Jame Enoteca and Ospi in Los Angeles. He’s also a partner and chef at Wake and Late, a breakfast burrito restaurant. Jackson and Melissa got married in January of this year. Kalb proposed to his current wife Melissa during an NBA game in January 2020 in an ecstatic proposal. A flash mob, a live DJ, Bruno Mars and basketball player King James were all part of the lavish proposal. The couple have been documenting their adventures on social media.

Food Network is responsible for Kalb’s passion for cooking. At the age of 11, he became ill and engrossed in its performances, and at 12 he founded a catering company that could train him in the culinary arts. . He trained during high school and then graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Management in 2013. He went on to work as a food manager for Hillstone Restaurant Group after graduation. During this time, he met Melissa, who became her life partner and business partner.
Kalb left Hillstone Restaurant Group and spent two years in Italy learning everything there was to know about pasta. In 2016, he returned to The Factory Kitchen as a Culinary Chef and then Executive Chef at Bottlefish (in 2017).

Things to know about King Chef season 19
Kalb is one of several talented chefs competing for the title of Top Chef in America, a grand prize of $250,000 and featured in Food and Wine magazine. Padma Lakshmi will host Top Chef Season 19, and she will also judge the contestants’ skills along with main judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio. Several guest judges will appear on the show throughout the season, including Marcus Samuelsson, Wylie Dufresne, Bricia Lopez, Eric Ripert, Carlotta Flores, Alexander Smalls, Daniel Boulud and Hunter Lewis.
