In a recent interview, Birdman talked about the time he had kissed Lil Wayne on the lips and the storm it caused. The kiss had fans speculating if the I Run This rapper was gay.
Birdman recently sat down for an interview with the Big Facts podcast where he cleared the air about the kiss that caused quite the stir among rap fans.
Many hip-hop fans might remember that during an encounter with each other in 2006, Birdman and Lil Wayne briefly locked lips while bidding goodbyes to each other.
This kiss did not happen in private and was heavily photographed and circulated everywhere, which gave rise to speculation about both rappers’ sexuality.

Is Birdman gay?
Despite the speculation, fans must note that Birdman is NOT gay.
The rapper talked about his sexuality briefly during a 2016 interview with Hot97’s Ebro In The Morning hosts. When asked about the speculation that he might be gay, the rapper said, “come on man, I am a straight gangsta, nobody knows what’s happening with me.
“N**gas think its funny and stuff, but n**gas don’t know what’s happening with me man.”
Clearing up rumours about his sexuality, the rapper called them ‘lies’ saying, “Google me, man, lies will come up, I’m Straight G.”
It is best to put these rumours to rest given that the rapper has admitted to being straight already.
It is also important to note that Birdman, who is a father of two, has a long history of dating women. Most famously, he has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with reality star Toni Braxton for the longest time. The duo even got engaged in 2019 and planned on getting married in 2020.
The couple’s relationship status is not clear at the moment.

Rapper explains why he kissed Lil Wayne on the lips
While Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Christopher Williams, has spoken about his awkward encounter with Lil Wayne many times in the past, he opened up about it once again on the podcast.
In the recent interview, the Cash Money Records co-founder, 52, admitted that he kissed the Sucker for Pain rapper out of fear of never seeing him again. The music mogul said he thought that it would be the ‘last time’ they’d ever cross paths.
He further said, “I always looked at Wayne as my son and I always looked at it like, ’cause I was in the streets, and I thought this might be the last time he ever sees me.”
Birdman detailed, “Cause I was living like that. That’s what that s**t really started from ’cause I thought that every night I leave, I might not ever come back.”
Speaking about their bond further, the rapper also said, “I was his father when he didn’t have a father since he was 9 years old. And I love him like my own, and I’d give my life for him and I’d take life for him.”

Birdman’s recent interview got fans talking about the rapper’s 2006 encounter with Lil Wayne and it looks like many are still creeped out by it. Some fans said how they would never kiss their adult sons on the lips, no matter what.
Others joked about how no amount of reasoning can justify why two men who claim to have a father-son bond would kiss each other on the lips.
