Blaidd is one of the many characters in Elden Ring for players to befriend and battle. In addition, there is a way for players to obtain both his armor and his Royal Greatsword. While Elden Ring keeps its narrative to a minimum in favor of exploration, there are a handful of characters that will help the player on their adventure. Whether they be shopkeepers providing items for the player’s inventory or old relics depicting the lore of this land, there’s a little bit of something to get the bigger picture of Elden Ring. In the case of Blaidd, he is a Half-Wolf that can be found nearby the Mistwood Ruins.

It’s important to mention that collecting Blaidd’s armor and Royal Greatsword is part of a much larger story thread. The Royal Greatsword itself is one of the better swords in Elden Ring. Those looking to obtain it will need to participate in Ranni’s questline. To begin, the player will need to go to Caria Manor in Northern Liurnia and liberate it from Loretta. After the battle, the player will now have access to three towers. Head to the one in the middle called Ranni’s Rise and speak with Ranni to begin the questline.

In order to obtain Blaidd’s armor and the Royal Greatsword in Elden Ring, the player will need to complete Ranni’s questline up until the final mission. During this quest, the player will need to return to Ranni’s Rise where they will find Blaidd kneeling on the ground. Approaching him will commence a battle in which the player will have to vanquish him to collect his armor and sword. Although players can lock on from the very beginning and attack Blaidd with a critical hit from the back, it won’t kill him. However, the battle will start with a decent chunk of his HP already drained.

How To Defeat Blaidd in Elden Ring

Above all, Blaidd isn’t one of the most challenging battles in the game if players are properly pacing their levels. He does a series of slashing attacks that will send him soaring through the air. It’s important to keep a respectable distance away to read his attack. Once he displays his opening, make a jump attack to stagger him and get additional damage.

Alternatively, magic users in Elden Ring can just keep their distance and spam projectiles to defeat him. Using magic to summon an ally will also make the battle much easier. Blaidd tends to lock onto the AI ally versus the actual player, leaving them wide open for attacks. Just pace it out and slowly chip down his HP until he is defeated. Approach him and collect both his armor and the Royal Greatsword. While Blaidd was a temporary ally, he had to go for players to earn this gear.
