How did Angela Samota fare?

In 1984, Angela Samota was killed. Before 2010, no one was found guilty of her slaying. Without her best friend’s tireless efforts, this conviction would not have been possible. Later today, I’ll post a YouTube video about this case. Angela Samota, true crime, and true crime YouTube

Angela Samota was characterised as a happy and sincere young lady whose dearest friends would always remember her for having the biggest smile. On the evening of October 12, 1984, Samota and her family were tragically affected by a trip to the State Fair with two of her friends, Russell Buchanan and Anita Kadala.

Around one in the morning, when the group arrived home, Angela dropped the others off before visiting her boyfriend Ben to bid him good night. Ben claims that at around 1:45 in the morning, Angela called him and informed him that a man had asked to use her phone and restroom. He was in her Amesbury Drive apartment, Angela informed him.

Ben claimed that after talking to the 20-year-old for a little while longer, she hung up after promising to call him again. When Ben phoned back, she didn’t pick up the phone because the call never arrived.

Ben, who was concerned, drove to her house but when he knocked on the locked front door, no one answered. When the police responded to his complaint, they were on the site just after 2:15 a.m. and broke down the door.

Angela Samota’s naked, bleeding body was discovered by police on her bed. She had been raped and stabbed 18 times in total, according to her autopsy. Her heart was instantly struck by injuries to her chest, causing her to pass away.

Who was Angela Samota’s killer?

Ben McCall, Russell Buchanan, and one of the ex-boyfriends were the main suspects in the murder and rape of Angela. However, none of them could be linked to the murder directly because no hard evidence relating to them was discovered.

Ben and the ex-boyfriend were exonerated after the investigation when a medical professional determined that Angela’s attacker was a “non-secretor.” Russell, a 23-year-old architect who lives close to Angela’s home, was the only person to be considered a suspect. He was subjected to a polygraph test, which he passed, disqualifying him from being the murderer as well.

Before Detective Linda Crum attempted to compare DNA evidence from the crime scene to previously-existing criminal records, the investigation had gone cold. A match was discovered in 2008 for Donald Andrew Bess Jr.
