Fisher Yu Obituary: On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Yifan Liu, a female PUA postdoctoral student, committed suicide after alleging that Fisher Yu, an assistant professor at ETH Zurich, had sexually harassed her.
A happy and energetic woman named Yifan Liu, who had been in PUA for half a year, killed herself by jumping off a building. She quit her teaching career to join Fisher Yu at ETH and arrived there in March of this year.
Who Was Fisher Yu?
Fisher Yu, an assistant professor, works at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, after completing his doctoral studies at Princeton University. He is in charge of overseeing the Visual Intelligence and Systems (cv.ethz.ch) Group under the Computer Vision Lab.
His goal is to create perceptual systems that can successfully execute tough tasks under difficult conditions. His work is interdisciplinary, straddling robotics, computer vision, and machine learning, among others. His current efforts are concentrated on closing the gap between operational execution and strategic planning.
