Fans claim the new Doctor's redesigned sonic screwdriver resembles a ‘sex toy’

The multi-function device has been given a new look for the first female Doctor.

It was unveiled this week in a campaign to introduce Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Time Lord.
But its soft, smooth curves have left many sniggering that it looks just like a vibrator.
Giorgiana Izvercian posted online: “More like sonic screwdildo.” Another said: “Nice to see I’m not the only one thinking . . . #sextoy.”
Frederik Egger tweeted: “I bet it has three settings.” Michael Ries replied: “Yeah . . slow . . fast . . and exterminate!!”

Stacy Embry commented: “Truly an unfortunate design.
“It’s more something in a nightstand than a Tardis.”
And Darren Greenidge remarked: “You’d think the BBC would have noticed and asked for a redesign being a family show.”
