After receiving negative feedback from fans for canceling his event, Eric Church used Twitter to offer a free performance to anyone who purchased a ticket. Originally scheduled for April 2 in San Antonio, Texas,

When promoting the free event, Church said:

“It took me a while to figure out how and when to thank you. I will be performing at the Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, TX on Friday, September 2, 2022 for all of you who purchased tickets to our canceled San Antonio event.”

Church also announced a new event in early September in Texas. The female singer also promises to have more information about the “free concert” soon.

Why did Eric Church cancel his San Antonio concert

Eric Church canceled the April 2 gig in San Antonio through Ticketmaster four days before the event. The Recording Year singer refunded tickets to those who bought them, along with a note explaining his “selfish” motives. Eric Church said in his statement that he canceled his show to watch the NCAA tournament with his family. Church highlighted his enthusiasm for the last four basketball games, the University of North Carolina’s Tar Heels game against the Duke Blue Devils.

Eric Church began telling followers that canceling the event so early was the “most selfish thing” he had ever asked of them. And so the North Carolina native announced his free event to make peace with fans who missed his canceled Saturday performance. According to People, Eric Church’s planned resistance performance will take place at the Whitewater Amphitheater in Canyon Lake, New Braunfels. The September 2 event is free to individuals who have purchased tickets for the April 2 performance at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

Some fans criticized the 44-year-old singer when she announced the cancellation of the show. Only a few people understood the NCAA game, so he canceled the show. Others were dismayed because they had booked flights and accommodation to see him and would not receive a refund.
