Having made 77 happy orbits around the sun, Dusty Street has now died away. Indeed, her real name was Dusty Street. It is unknown what exactly caused Dusty Street to pass away.

Renowned radio personality Dusty Street devoted almost fifty years of her life to her love of broadcasting. Renowned for her enticing and seductive voice, she built a name for herself in Los Angeles after relocating from San Francisco, quickly becoming one of the most adored female disc jockeys in the city.

Dusty Street was well-known for being frank, and she was especially vocal about issues like the rock music lyrics grading system, which was recently raised during a Senate inquiry.

Pioneer Dusty Street made a lasting impression as one of the first female rock jocks on the West Coast, initially appearing at KMPX and KSAN in San Francisco from 1967 to 1978. She later took over as host of KROQ in Los Angeles from 1979 to 1996.

Her contributions to the documentary “San Francisco Sounds: A Place In Time,” which followed the rise to fame of several Bay Area musicians, including the Steve Miller Band, Sly and the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Aeroplane, Santana, and CCR, were noteworthy.
