Fans of Netflix’s The Wrong Missy have been left unconvinced about the main character’s hair with many asking the question, does David Spade wear a wig?
It’s not uncommon for actors to take on a different appearance in their roles.
Whether it’s bulking up to play a superhero or growing out a beard to play a wild man of the mountain-type character, there’s nothing some actors won’t do.
Following the release of Netflix’s The Wrong Missy, there has been plenty of discussion surrounding David Spade and his new appearance in the hilarious rom-com.
But it’s not a muscly physique that has got fans talking but rather his hair in the film, with many viewers believing it to be a wig.

The film tells the story of Tim Morris (David Spade), a remarkably unremarkable businessman whose Hawaii business trip is turned on its head when he invites the wrong Missy (Lauren Lapkus) to join him.
Does David Spade wear a wig in The Wrong Missy?
One of the biggest talking points of the film, as well as the laugh-out-loud comedy, has been Tim’s hair in The Wrong Missy and whether or not the actor David Spade wore a wig for the role.
Countless fans on social media have been laying into David Spade’s hair in the film with many believing the brunette barnet to be a wig.
Even David Spade himself isn’t keen on his look in the film while the character of Missy in the film makes the joke that his hair looks like “a shameless wig.”

However, while there is plenty of speculation over David Spade’s hair in the film, it would appear that the actor did not wear a hairpiece for the role.
As evidenced in the tweet below, Spade’s only cosmetic transformation for the role came from dying his hair, which is usually blond, brown and shaving off his signature facial hair.
It wouldn’t be the first time he wore a wig
While the evidence suggests that the hair we see is that of Spade’s, it wouldn’t be the first time the 55-year-old actor has worn a wig for one of his roles.
His most famous hairdo came in the film Tommy Boy where one scene even shows the wig being blown back to reveal a bald head underneath.
Another of David Spade’s signature wig looks came in the film Joe Dirt and its 2015 sequel where he’s given a wig that would make even the reddest of rednecks jealous.
