Dewey Barnes & Norv Fernum: Should They Ever Have Been Signed?

Written by Lily Fisher — 0 Views
When I watch the two of them, it harkens back to the way wrestling was when I was growing up when there were professional jobbers. I always enjoyed watching Mike Jackson, The Italian Stallion, Barry Horrowitz, Iron Mike Sharpe, Brad Armstrong, and a wrestler that was super skinny, and had an afro… I'm trying to remember his name and I hope someone here can help; but I think it might be Rocky King even though I can't find a picture of him with an afro. :-/

Anyways, to my original point. Back then, there were jobbers, and those jobbers had a hierarchy. Like Brad Armstrong was someone I really liked, and he could beat most lesser jobbers, but he would never beat a star. TNA doesn't have enough hours on TV to have a bunch of jobbers, but it is nice to see them use a couple of jobbers to lose, instead of having stars lose to EC3 from the jump. I think this has helped build the EC3 character, and that is the job of the jobber.

Would I want to see them get a "push"? Not really. Now if there was some kind of fluke like back when the dynamite kid beat razor ramon (remember that Sean was super skinny back then as well); then I might could buy into that.

I'm not wanting a huge renaissance in the jobbing culture, but to me it is nice to have a couple in there from time to time. And these two guys are probably cheaper to job than the wwe rejects someone mentioned.
