Report on an investigation
Back at her home, Britton claimed that she was by herself in the kitchen when she started to reflect about the most recent breakup with her ex-girlfriend and was “more and more angry,” according to the statement. sworn She claimed that Hood approached him and “playfully pulled on her ear,” like her boyfriend had done to her frequently. After what she characterized as a “fit of rage” over the incident, Britton told police she grabbed a weapon.
The incident prompted Britton to experience what she characterized as a “fit of rage,” and according to her account to police, she took a glass bottle and smacked Hood in the back of the head with it, sending her to the ground.
She then allegedly struck and strangled her, according to what she told police, before repeatedly hitting her in the head with a hammer until the wooden handle broke. According to his testimony to police, after failing in a knife suicide attempt, Britton then pointed a revolver he had just bought at his head as a neighbor came on the door.
After opening the door, Britton covered the body. The person was checking to see if he was okay after hearing a ruckus, according to the affidavit. The alleged killer informed police that after telling the victim he was alright, he realized the infant was watching a movie in his bed and made the decision to take the child to the victim’s mother’s residence.
According to the affidavit, when he got home, he informed the police that he had heard Hood yell her name. The document claims that after finding she was still alive, he reportedly stabbed her multiple times. Around 3 a.m., Britton wrapped her corpse in duct tape, sealed it, and carried it outside. She then flung his remains over a fence “out of sight” and came back around 7 a.m. according to the police affidavit, to conceal the corpse with leaves.
After being detained, Britton was charged with murder and making a threat against a family or house. According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, he is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $1.05 million bail.
