Cocktail is a Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama movie released in 2012, directed by Homi Adajania. The film revolves around the life of Meera, a shy and traditional Indian girl who moves to London with her husband Kunal. While at the London airport, she encounters Gautam Kapoor, a flirtatious and womanizing man, who expresses interest in her and asks her out. Meera, uncomfortable with his behavior, declines his offer and informs him that she is married before leaving. Meera tries to locate Kunal, but when she finally finds him, he reveals that he married her for money and asks her to stay away. This leaves Meera heartbroken and stranded in London with nowhere to go. While struggling to find a place to stay in London, Meera meets Veronica, a carefree and wealthy girl who takes pity on her and invites her to stay in her luxurious apartment. After going out to a nightclub, they bump into Gautam, a flirtatious man who had previously hit on Meera at the airport. Gautam and Veronica end up sleeping together, which Meera finds out the next morning. Despite her initial dislike for Gautam, Meera grows to accept him, and the three of them develop a close friendship. Gautam continues his casual relationship with Veronica while living with both her and Meera. As Gautam, Meera, and Veronica become good friends, their friendship faces some challenges when Gautam's mother suddenly shows up unannounced and finds Gautam living with two women. To avoid upsetting his traditional mother, Gautam pretends to be in a romantic relationship with Meera. But things take a turn when Gautam realizes he has genuine feelings for Meera, and Veronica expresses her desire to take their relationship with Gautam to the next level.
