Chad Craig Motorcycle Accident: In loving memory of Cedar Rapids man killed in Cottage Grove motorcycle accident; Debra Trimble arrest & charges.

In connection with the death of a motorcyclist on Tuesday night, a woman from Linn County is charged of vehicular homicide.

On Cottage Grove Avenue, close to Highlands Court SE, Debra Trimble, 60, attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone when she crashed head-on with 48-year-old motorcyclist Chad Craig.

Just after seven o’clock in the evening, Trimble attempted to pass the other vehicle while ascending a bend in her Pontiac Vibe.

Although Trimble is said to be from Marion in a news release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, a criminal complaint cites Cedar Rapids as her place of residence.

Craig was declared dead on the spot. Trimble has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, and hazardous passing. A news release states that Trimble was unharmed in the collision.

Trimble supplied a breath sample after being taken to the Linn County Jail, and the results showed that her blood alcohol level was 0.109, according to the complaint. The permitted level is.08.

Trimble appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday and is being jailed under a $100,000 bail.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is still looking into the collision.
