Caitlyn Laughlin Car Accident – Obituary: In loving memory of Franklin County woman killed in Thursday crash in Hocking County.
Following a two-car collision in Hocking County on Thursday, a Franklin County woman died.
Caitlyn Laughlin died in the collision that occurred just after 5 o’clock, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Athens Post.
According to the press release, Laughlin was operating an SUV eastbound on US 33 when it lost control and veered into oncoming traffic close to milepost 7 in Hocking County.
A semi-truck being operated by John Ashley of Winchester, Tennessee, was struck head-on by Laughlin’s vehicle.
Ashley was unharmed in the collision.
At the incident, assistance was provided by the Logan Police and Fire Department, the Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices of Hocking County, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Hocking Hills Towing and Marty’s Wrecker service.
Investigation is ongoing.
