Galindo Diaz, who is 35 years old, is being held in a San Bernardino County jail for the accident at Stoddard Wells.

On July 2, the two kids were riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Stoddard Wells Road when they were hit by Galindo’s side-by-side vehicle.

ATVs and UTVs are both off-road vehicles, but UTVs usually have bigger, more powerful engines and can be used for both work and play.

Witnesses say they saw the car that hit them turn off its lights and then swerve away.

Since the investigation is still going on, anyone with more information about the case is asked to call the CHP Victorville station at 760-241-1186.
